Really visual temporal reasoning

چکیده
Real-Time Future Interval Logic (RTFIL) is a visual logic with formull that resemble timing diagrams. It is a dense real-time temporal logic that is based on two simple temporal primitives: interval modalities for the purely qualitative part and duration predicates for the quantitative part. In this paper we present the logic, and illustrate its use in specifying the railroad crossing example and proving some of its properties. The logic in its propositional form is decidable by reduction to the emptiness problem of Timed BB uchi Automata. A theorem prover, based on this decision procedure, has been implemented as part of a graph-ical proof environment. The proofs of the railroad crossing example have been veriied using this theorem prover. The combination of an automated theorem prover and a graphical speciication language greatly facilitate the task of verifying real-time proofs. This convenience apart, RT-FIL is invariant under real-time stuttering and does not admit instantaneous states. These properties are expected to facilitate proof methods based on abstraction and re-nement.

Comparison of Moral Reasoning among Students with and without Visual Impairment
Background and Purpose: Some research has examined the moral reasoning and judgment in students with special needs and has shown that these students are lagging behind their non-disabled counterparts in term of moral development. Very few studies have been done in the area of development of moral reasoning in individuals with visual impairment; so given the research vacuum in this context, the ...
متن کاملA Survey of Visual Traffic Surveillance Using Spatio-Temporal Analysis and Mining
The focus of this survey is on spatio-temporal data mining and database retrieval for visual traffic surveillance systems. In many traffic surveillance applications, such as incident detection, abnormal events detection, vehicle speed estimation, and traffic volume estimation, the data used for reasoning is really in the form of spatio-temporal data (e.g. vehicle trajectories). How to effective...
متن کاملA System for Qualitative Spatio-Temporal Reasoning
* supported by NSF Award CNS-0959958 Abstract The ability to reason about the spatial relationships between objects in the environment is a core requirement of mobile robots and many other types of intelligent systems. However, since objects frequently change their location, the representation of spatial location critically depends on time. Thus, what is really required is spatiotemporal reason...
متن کاملA Normal Form for Spider Diagrams of Order
We develop a reasoning system for an Euler diagram based visual logic, called spider diagrams of order. We define a normal form for spider diagrams of order and provide an algorithm, based on the reasoning system, for producing diagrams in our normal form. Normal forms for visual logics have been shown to assist in proving completeness of associated reasoning systems. We wish to use the reasoni...
متن کاملAn Approach for Temporal Case-Based Reasoning: Episode-Based Reasoning
In recent years, several researchers have studied the suitability of CBR to cope with dynamic or continuous or temporal domains. In these domains, the current state depends on the past temporal states. This feature really makes difficult to cope with these domains. This means that classical individual case retrieval is not very accurate, as the dynamic domain is structured in a temporally relat...
